My husband has been calling me and keeping me updated on the birds and he's proud to report that all 5 babies have moved out of the nest and starting to fly. They're staying in the tree right off of our balcony, but the parents are coaxing them to be a little more mobile. (There is a little sad news about one of the chicks who has a deformed foot and probably won't make it too long out on its own, but we're not going to dwell on that right now.)
Hooray for good deeds that actually have happy endings!
